The Walk will take place in Southside Park.

Walk the distance you would like/are able or remain in the South Gate Centre and visit with friends and enjoy the activities provided for the participants.

Your choice to raise funds to support the six projects Mothers with a Heart for Ethiopia funds in Ethiopia will help to change lives through the provision of much needed surgery, shelter, clothing, food, education and care.

What is A Walk in Their Shoes?

A Walk in Their Shoes is a fun event for all ages. Two main goals of the event are to:

1. raise much needed funds for the women and children in Ethiopia and,

2. raise awareness of the realities of life for millions and millions of women and children in that country.

Pictures and stories along the walking route will educate walkers about realities in Ethiopia and how the funds they have raised will make a big difference in the lives of women and children.

“Discover Ethiopia” is a contest that will take place in South Gate Centre with a door prize for the lucky winner.

Registration – 1:00 – 1:50 p.m
Bring your pledge sheet and collected funds to the South Gate Centre and receive recognition for your level of fundraising.

Walk Kick-Off – 2:00 – 2:15 p.m.
Gather inside the South Gate Centre to start the Walk!

Walk – 2:15 – 3:15 p.m.
Walk the distance you are able/prefer in Southside Park.  (If it is raining, the Walk will be indoors at South Gate Centre.)

Post-Walk Activities – 3:20 – 3:40 p.m.
Refreshments, Ethiopian Merkato shopping, Discover Ethiopia contest and visiting in South Gate Centre.

Closing Ceremonies - 3:40 – 4:00 p.m.
Gather inside the South Gate Centre to celebrate the funds raised and to learn more about how you are helping to change lives in Ethiopia.
