Bizunesh underwent surgery for 3rd degree prolapse. She is married, was pregnant eight times and six of her children are living. She had suffered from prolapse for one year. 

Ribican is 35 years old and has two children. She is married and lives with her husband and her children. She has suffered from prolapse for two years and has now had a successful surgery!

Amarech is 30 years old. She is married and had six children, four of whom are still alive. She had prolapse for eight years and after failing some conservative measures with a pessary and she was able to have surgery to finally permanently help her.

Furume is 35 and has had prolapse for 20 years, ever since the birth of her first of six children. Five are still alive and she was able to have successful surgery that will permanently address her issues. It’s hard to imagine that she has suffered from this for 20 years. We are so glad that she no longer needs to suffer.

Dalite Dana is 40 years old and has four living children after giving birth to six. She’s had prolapse for a long eight years. She is now free of her prolapse and recovering well. And she gave Dr. Mark a big thumbs up before surgery!

This beautiful lady is the 200th Ethiopian woman that we have been able to sponsor to receive a prolapse uterus correction surgery. Yeah!

Ayinate is 50 years old and lives with her husband and her seven children. Her husband is a farmer but he has been sick and she and the children have been running the farm.  She has had prolapse for three years and she is now free of her prolapse.  She’ll be taking it easy for six weeks as she recovers and will let her children attend to her as well as the farm.

This is Galtore.  She is probably around 70 and had five children but only one has survived. She’s still married but, like a lot of women, her husband has another wife and does not live with her. She does see him once a week or so for coffee. She’s had prolapse for “at least 7 years” (Dr. Nate guesses that it’s been more than 10). She is still very spunky and brings a smile to everyone’s face that she talks to. She was so happy to have her surgery performed!

Aberash is 45 and was blessed with six children, all of whom are still alive. She’s actually still breastfeeding her youngest and lives with her husband and children. She’s had prolapse for about one year but it quickly became very severe. She is so grateful to be celebrating Ethiopian Christmas next week free of prolapse.
